My experience of Banda Aceh KFC has brought me to the conclusion that the Colonel’s training manuals aren’t being read. For example, they don’t serve drinks with ice, and I’ve seen them pre-fill cups and leave them sitting on the bench waiting to be served. Similar deal with the food it seems, we were served a packet of fries stale enough to make your Granny seem fresh.
In addition, they do the dirty trick of not advertising the full price, but the pre-tax price, making things seem cheaper than they are.
I’m wondering, is working at KFC a high status job in a country where just having a job in the first place is a commendable thing? How much can you earn working at KFC? In a country with people living under the poverty line, do they throw away the unsold chicken at the end of the day? Do any of the Colonel’s chickens have bird flu? How can I get my dirty paws on a KFC jilbab (head scarf)? How bout giving me some ice with that drink?
